movies arriving day and date in theaters and video

This is an interesting story.

2929 Entertainment is planning on releasing movies simulataneously on home video and in theaters. It's an interesting idea. I heard they did that in Japan with some releases to combat piracy. I'm not sure I'm in favor of it for all movies, but for some smaller movies, it's probably a really good idea. Because if you're not living in LA, NYC, Chicago, etc. A lot of independent movies don't come your way. (Although, I will say that Buffalo, NY has a healthy supply of independent movies.) So releasing them on video right away would allow them to be seen right away by a lot more people. I'm still one of those that enjoys going to movie theaters and seeing movies on the big screen. But I also don't like downloading movies that look terrible. Waste of my time. Anyway, read the article.

american idol and podcasting

Gotta love that "American Idol". Carrie Underwood wins leaving Bo Bice the runnerup. That's what I thought would happen. Although, I think that her new record company should release the last song she sang Tuesday night, some Angels song, as the first single. She sounded amazing on that one. Although, I'm sure Bo gets to release a record too. His should be way different.

Also, did you hear that Apple is planning on supporting podcasting in the next verison of iTunes? I thought that was pretty cool. I listen to Adam Curry's Daily Source Code often and now I listen to This Week in Tech. It's a bunch of the folks from the old Screen Savers show on the old Tech TV/ZDTV channel. You should check it out.

Star Wars Revenge of the Sith Review Posted

I saw it and posted my review. It seems like from the box office take, that many others saw it as well. I've seen it twice already and plan to see it a few more times too. It's a great movie. Read the review. I saw it screen digitally both times. I would like to see a 35mm screening once too. I saw it the first time in the Cinerama Dome in LA. They have a 2K Digital Projector that they just got. It looked amazing. I would say to theater owners to upgrade to these 2K projectors or I hear 4K are coming soon too. Fantastic.

Other than that, it's been a pretty uneventful weekend. I hope to get some work accomplished soon too. I'm thinking of adding some new stuff to the website, I just need to make some time to do it. UGH! Well, I've got to go. Later.

so busy

I've been so busy lately, that I am just completely vegging out this weekend. Right now, as I type this. Completely wasting time. Got my Star Wars Tickets for opening weekend. So excited. Well, back to nothing.

Did you get your Star Wars tickets yet? I actually haven't. I plan on seeing it as soon as possible, but my work schedule is hectic. I hope to get a ticket next week for the Arclight Digital Screenings. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I may need to see it non-digital first. We'll see. well, no new video. sorry. I'm still working on it. It's been crazy at work and I'm traveling around to visit the family after my Dad had knee surgery.
